Who are the Maestri del Gusto?
Founded in 2002, the project selects producers, retailers, farmers and artisans through the Turin Chamber of Commerce, Slow Food and the Chamber’s Chemical Laboratory. Today it includes more than 200 businesses.
To understand Turin food culture, knowing the dishes is not enough: you need to enter the shops and meet the people who select, mature, bake, knead and sell food every day.

In Via San Tommaso, Latteria Bera tells the story of Turin through cheese, interiors, photographs and craft memory. It is also a story carried forward by women, generation after generation: the elderly woman shown in the shop photographs belongs to this family continuity. It appears in the 2025–2026 Maestri del Gusto list as a cheesemonger and “Maestro da sempre”.
