I created a plugin for my business to waste less time

A useful agent is not one that can do everything. It knows which tools to use, which boundaries to respect and, above all, where to stop.

IA in Bottega: a business plugin for less fragmentation and greater control

THE PROBLEM WAS NOT ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

The problem was fragmentation. Website, shop, newsletters, contacts, automations and different tools make a small business constantly switch platforms. Each switch demands time, memory and checks. The plugin began with this idea: create one operational entry point without building another complicated system to manage.

AN AGENT WITH A CLEAR SCOPE

The plugin is dedicated to Pasta Piemonte and its commercial and marketing activities. GetResponse is central: newsletters, lists, segments and automations. Personal work, including my LinkedIn, Substack, podcasts, books and IA in Bottega, stays outside. This separation prevents different identities, contacts, purposes and responsibilities from becoming mixed.

CONNECT WHAT ALREADY EXISTS

Before adding tools, we checked existing connections: website, shop, repository, deployments and GetResponse. The rule is simple: do not rebuild what already works. An agent should reduce steps, rather than duplicate them. For business social media, too, we sought direct connections where possible instead of unnecessary intermediaries.

THE AGENT DOES NOT DECIDE ALONE

The key issue is what the plugin cannot do without authorisation. Preparing a newsletter, checking a list or proposing an action is different from sending, publishing or changing a production system. Actions with real consequences must remain subject to explicit approval.

IT DOES NOT NEED TO DO EVERYTHING

An agent with too broad a scope becomes difficult to control and mixes activities that should remain separate. The business plugin must therefore stay out of my personal projects. If those need an agent one day, it will be a different one, with different tools, data and rules.

THE LESSON

A useful agent knows exactly where it must stop. For a small business, AI should remove friction from everyday work while keeping human responsibility clear, rather than simply multiplying automations.
