Sospel
Sospel was an important crossroads between the coast and Piedmont. The Pont-Vieux is documented on the Nice–Piedmont route from the Middle Ages, used by salt caravans and subject to a passage toll. The town still preserves major Baroque heritage, including Saint-Michel Cathedral, painted façades and traces of its former commercial and strategic importance.

The Bévéra Valley also belongs to the history of lavender. In Sospel, images of nomadic distillation provide a way to tell the story of a seasonal craft based on mobile stills, harvesting and mountain scents.
